This Privacy Policy explains how OnTheTron(“OnTheTron,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a project operated by ActualCoolThings, collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website at onthetron.com and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide to us
- Photos. The selfie or image you upload so we can generate your video.
- Phone number. Provided so we can text you the link to your finished video and related messages about your moment.
- Contact & request details. If you use our contact form or request a custom scene, we collect the name, email address, and message content you submit.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data. Pages viewed, actions taken, referring pages, and similar analytics about how you use the Service.
- Device & technical data. IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, and general location inferred from your IP.
- Cookies & similar technologies.Used for analytics, advertising, and to keep the Service working. See “Cookies, advertising & analytics” below.
2. How we use your information
- To create, process, and deliver your AI-generated video.
- To text you the link to your video and respond if you reply.
- To respond to your contact messages and custom-scene requests.
- To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Service.
- To measure usage and performance through analytics.
- To display advertising that helps keep the core Service free.
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or technical issues.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
3. How your photo is processed by AI
To create your video, your uploaded photo is sent to our third-party AI provider (Magic Hour), which generates a stadium broadcast image and animates it into a short video. Your photo and the generated media are stored on our infrastructure (Supabase) so we can build and deliver your clip. We use your photo only to provide the Service to you. We do not use your photo to train advertising models, and we do not sell it.
4. Text messages (SMS)
We treat two kinds of text message separately, and we ask for your permission separately for each.
Service messages. When you provide your phone number, you consent to receive texts from us about the moment you created — primarily the link to your video. These are the messages you asked for by using the Service.
Marketing messages. We only send these if you tick the optional marketing box when you submit your number. That box is unticked by default and is never required to create or receive your video. When you tick it, we record the date and time, your IP address, and the exact wording you agreed to, so we can show what you consented to.
For both kinds: message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply depending on your carrier. Reply STOP to any message to opt out — this stops all texts from us, marketing and service alike — or HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. We never sell your phone number.
5. Cookies, advertising & analytics
We and our partners use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Service, understand usage, and serve ads.
- Monetag. We use the ad network Monetag to display ads. Monetag and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to deliver and measure ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by third-party vendors at aboutads.info/choices or youronlinechoices.eu.
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics to understand how the Service is used. You can learn about Google's practices at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Disabling cookies may affect how parts of the Service work.
